How do I work out the fuel cost for a journey?

Divide the miles by your car's MPG, multiply by 4.546 for litres, then by the price per litre — or just enter your route above and this free calculator does it automatically with live UK prices. A typical 40 MPG petrol car costs roughly 17p per mile in fuel right now; a 50 MPG diesel about 15p per mile.

Can I find cheap fuel stops along my route?

Yes — the planner shows live prices at stations along your route so you can skip motorway services, which typically charge 15–30p per litre more. It's completely free; prices come from the UK Government Fuel Finder scheme and update every 15 minutes.
